Therapy Approach
I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults and couples, focusing on the root causes of emotional distress and fostering transformation by exploring your unique desires and the logic of your dreams in session.
My hope is to support you wherever you find yourself on your path.
Services
Individual Therapy
Therapy is a creative process, one that begins when we give ourselves permission to speak freely, inviting gentle curiosity and the emergence of something real. I see patients who have traversed painful experiences and want help making sense of them. The objective is not to erase the painful memories, but to find what can still grow and even flourish out of the rubble.
I offer a space for you to explore your unique place in the world while uncovering truths that may have long remained buried, yet continue to shape your experience. In our work together, we will make room for words and feelings that matter, some perhaps spoken for the first time. This process can lead to deeper self-knowing, relief from psychological pain, and a fuller engagement with life.
As a psychoanalytic therapist, I invite you to speak freely, at your own pace, while we explore your experience in depth. We may talk about your childhood memories, dreams, fantasies, and unconscious relationship patterns that shed light on the root of conflicts. I will ask you questions and offer interpretations for you to notice subtle shifts in your experience.
I specialize in working with:
- Couples & non-monogamous relationships
- Issues with sexuality and sexual trauma
- Immigration grief, bilingual speakers, and multicultural people
- Creative blocks or feelings of deadness
- LGBTQIA+ community, artists, writers, and academics
Through my clinical experiences, I have supported individuals navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. These include symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, PTSD, OCD, psychosis, addiction, grief, borderline personality dynamics, disability, neurocognitive disorders, the effects of domestic abuse, parenting stress, among other concerns.
Couples Therapy
Many partners first arrive at couples therapy as a final attempt to save their relationship. It is often the case that they regret not having started couples therapy sooner. If you are exploring the idea of couples therapy today, I encourage you to reach out and begin.
Couples therapy can offer hope for partners to feel seen and understood, often after losing sight of what that feels like. Intimacy can be affected by years of unspoken conflict, lingering resentment, and emotional pain. In therapy, partners have the opportunity to explore new ways of communicating that nurture connection.
Even when patterns in a relationship feel difficult to change, I offer a space where you and your partner or partners can better understand these dynamics with care and curiosity. Through compassionate listening, no one needs to feel like the “bad person.” I believe all partners can benefit from the support of couples therapy to strengthen intimacy and discover something new about one another.
I also offer sessions for partners seeking to separate in a way that honors their previous relationship and allows for a new understanding of it.
I have experience in working with:
- Feeling unheard & improving communication
- Infidelity and/or betrayal
- Non-monogamy/polyamory
- LGBTQI+ relationships.
- Kink
- Relationship triangles
I use a sex-positive approach and welcome all relationship styles and consensual choices related to sexual expression.
